Prevention is better than cure. When you take care of your hearing, you are less likely to experience hearing problems or hearing loss. Prevention plays an important role in situations where loud noise is present, such as at work or at a concert, as well as in situations that can lead to an ear infection, such as showering or swimming. <\/p>\n\n

Prevention at work<\/h2>\n\n

When we think of hearing protection at work we quickly think of a construction worker, but there are many other professions where people work in an environment with loud noise, think for example of a bartender in a club. According to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, an employer is obliged to make hearing protection available to employees who work in a noise level of 80 dB or more. From 83 dB, the employee is also obliged to wear this hearing protection<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

Prevention during concerts<\/h2>\n\n

Did you know that a sound level of 104 dB is harmful after only 1.5 minutes? Did you also know that an average music concert produces 110 dB? It\u2019s no wonder that concerts are one of the primary culprits when it comes to both temporary and permanent hearing damage. Do you want to be able to continue enjoying the music? Then we recommend wearing the specially designed earplugs<\/a> during concerts. <\/p>\n\n

Prevention while driving<\/h2>\n\n

Wind noise, for example on a motorcycle or in a convertible, is a major cause of hearing damage. At 100 kilometers per hour, the noise can reach 94 dB, and this is harmful after only 15 minutes. To prevent this, there are special hearing protectors<\/a> on the market for motorcyclists, passengers and for people with convertibles. <\/p>\n\n

Prevention of waterborne ear infection<\/h2>\n\n

When water gets into the ear, such as while swimming or showering, it can lead to an ear infection<\/a>. This is because with the water, all kinds of dirt and bacteria can get into the ear. Although more common in children, adults should also be careful with water in the ear, especially if you have a hole in your eardrum. There are special swimming plugs<\/a> for this as well. <\/p>\n\n
