Coselgi Domes are soft silicone plugs that are placed on the end of the speaker or tube of your Coselgi hearing aid. They ensure that the sound is guided optimally into your ear canal and that the hearing aid sits comfortably. At Horend Goed you will find a wide range of Coselgi domes in different sizes and designs, so you will always find a dome that fits your hearing and ear. In doubt about the type or size? What exactly are Coselgi Domes?

Coselgi Domes – also called earplugs or sleeves – are replaceable silicone plugs that sit on the end of your hearing aid, on the speaker piece or tubing. They form the connection between the hearing aid and your ear canal. Domes are essential to both the comfort and sound quality of your hearing aid. A good dome ensures a snug fit in your ear, prevents the device from irritating or shifting, and contributes to a natural sound experience.

Coselgi Domes are available in several varieties: open, closed and power domes. Each type has its own function and application, depending on your hearing loss and personal preference.

What types of Coselgi Domes are there?

Open Domes

Open domes have small openings in the sides. These allow air and ambient sound to enter your ear canal, which is especially nice if you can still hear reasonably well in certain pitches. These domes provide an open, natural sound and are often prescribed for mild to moderate hearing loss.

Closed Domes

Closed domes have no openings and almost completely close off the ear canal. This reduces sound “leakage” and allows the hearing aid to amplify more without whistling. Closed domes are often used for moderate hearing loss or when there is a need for more amplification in the low tone range.

Power Domes (double domes)

Power domes have two silicone rings and completely seal off the ear canal. They offer maximum amplification and are typically used for more severe hearing losses. Because of their shape, they stay in place well, even in larger ear canals, and are less likely to cause feedback (buzzing).

Why regularly replace your Coselgi Domes?

Although domes are small and soft, they play a big role in the daily use of your hearing aid. Because they sit directly in your ear, they are exposed to earwax, moisture and dirt. This can cause them to become clogged, smelly or less comfortable over time.

A clogged dome affects sound quality and can lead to irritation or infection. Therefore, it is important to replace your domes regularly – usually every four weeks, or sooner if they are dirty or no longer fit properly.

Fortunately, replacing a Coselgi Dome is very easy. You gently pull the old dome off the speaker piece and press the new one firmly into place. Be sure to always check that the new dome is securely in place so that it doesn’t get left behind in your ear.

What size do I need?

Coselgi Domes are available in different diameters, for example, 6 mm, 8 mm or 10 mm. The right size depends on the shape and size of your ear canal, as well as your comfort and the degree of occlusion you need.

A dome that is too small may not stay in place or seal adequately. A dome that is too large may give pressure or pop out of your ear. Do you have doubts about the right size or design? Then we will be happy to help you. A well-fitting dome really makes a difference.

How do you store and maintain Coselgi Domes?

Although domes are meant to be replaced regularly, you can clean them in between. Wipe them gently with a dry cloth or a special cleaning cloth for hearing aids. Do not use water or detergents – these may affect the structure of the silicone.

Store your spare sets of domes in a dry place, preferably in the original packaging or in a clean storage box. This will prevent dust or dirt from accumulating before you use them.
