Signia X hearing aids are being phased out – here’s what you need to know about the successor: the IX series

As of June 30, 2025, Signia will cease supplying a number of popular X-series hearing aids. Perhaps you are currently using one of these models, or are about to make a choice. In either case, it is good to know what will change, which models will be phased out and what the advantages of the new generation of IX hearing aids will be. In this blog, we explain everything clearly for you.

Which Signia hearing aids are disappearing?

Signia has announced that the following models are disappearing from the range:

  • Signia Pure Charge&Go X
  • Signia Styletto X
  • Signia Active Pro
  • Signia Active

These devices can still be ordered until June 30, 2025. After that, they will no longer be available through regular distribution channels. If you still want to buy an X-model in the near future, for example because you already use a device from that line or because you know that this model suits you well, now is the time to take action.

What will take its place? Meet the Signia IX series

For all the above models, a successor is available in the IX series:

  • Pure Charge&Go IX replaces the Pure Charge&Go X
  • Styletto IX replaces the Styletto X
  • Active Pro IX replaces the Active Pro
  • Active IX replaces the Active

The transition to the IX series is more than just a cosmetic or technical update. Signia has equipped the IX hearing aids with a new chip architecture, smart AI functionality and an enhanced listening experience in complex environments.

X series vs. IX series: what’s the difference?

Many people have become familiar with the quality of the Signia X series. Yet the IX series offers distinct advantages in several respects:

1. New chip: Signia Integrated Xperience

The IX Series is built on the new Signia Integrated Xperience chip. This chip offers up to 192 processing channels and real-time voice tracking. That means the device is able to track conversations even when people move or change direction.

With the X series, the main focus was on following a single speaker in noisy situations. The IX Series takes this a step further: it recognizes and tracks multiple speakers simultaneously, providing a more natural conversation experience in groups.

2. Improved speech intelligibility

The IX Series uses β€œRealTime Conversation Enhancement,” a technology specifically designed to better support conversations in dynamic social situations. Whether you’re at the table with family, in a meeting or standing in a cafΓ©, the device helps you better focus on speech without completely filtering out background noise.

3. More personalized customization through the app

The Signia App has been enhanced for the IX series with even more setup options. Think personal sound profiles, custom noise reduction and real-time adjustment. These features are supported by AI that learns from your usage.

4. New listening modes for social interaction

IX hearing aids feature advanced microphone arrays that automatically adjust to the direction of sound. Unlike the X series (which often used a fixed directional sensitivity), IX models adapt flexibly – contributing to both quietness and intelligibility.

What happens to the chargers?

Good news: chargers for the X-Series will remain available for the time being. That means that, even after June 2025, you can still reorder or replace chargers as needed. This is especially important for people who want an extra charger on the go, at work or for a second location.

Please note that the IX series works with different charging stations. These are designed specifically for the new devices and support fast charging and improved battery monitoring, among other things.

Should you switch if you use an X hearing aid?

If you are currently satisfied with your Signia X hearing aid, there is no immediate cause for concern. Spare parts and chargers will remain available for some time to come. However, it is important to note that new fittings or replacements may become more limited after June 30, 2025 – especially if, for example, you lose a hearing aid or need a custom fit.

Have you been using an X model for some time and notice that you need more support in group conversations or noisy situations? Then now is the time to inquire about the IX series.

Who is the IX series suitable for?

The IX Series is designed for people who actively participate in conversations – at work, in clubs, at school or in social settings. With multi-speaker support and smart AI, this series is particularly suitable for:

  • People who regularly talk in groups
  • Users who place a high value on speech intelligibility
  • People who previously had difficulty with noisy environments
  • Users who love technology and customization through apps

What can you do now?

Have you become curious about the IX series? Then these are your options:

  1. Try an IX hearing aid
Ask if you can temporarily try an IX hearing aid and compare it to your current model.
  2. Decide if you want to reorder another X-model before June 30, 2025
If you need an additional device, or want to keep a known model, don’t wait too long.
  3. Get advice on your charger
Want an extra charger for your X hearing aid? These are still available, but in time they will also be removed from the range.

Conclusion: switching pays off, but doesn’t have to be done right away

The phasing out of the Signia X series does not mean you have to act immediately. But it is important to get your bearings. The IX series is ready for the future: more powerful, smarter and better suited to the modern listener. Whether you choose to switch or keep using your X device for a while longer – with the right information, you’ll make an informed choice.
