Audio Service is a hearing aid manufacturer in the WS Audiology group, which also includes Widex and Signia, among others. The entire group is one of the largest hearing aid suppliers in the world, with more than 12,000 employees and operating in more than 125 countries. Despite the fact that the WS Audiology group by itself has only existed since 2019, its history can be traced all the way back to 1878 with the founding of Siemens AG. This also makes it one of the oldest hearing aid manufacturers.

What does an Audio Service hearing aid cost?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to tell you in advance exactly what a hearing aid will cost you. This depends on a number of factors: the hearing protocol, your health insurance, your outstanding deductible, the co-payment and any additional insurance. We will explain to you how it works:

The hearing protocol and basic insurance

The hearing protocol describes how hearing aids should be provided by hearing care professionals. On the basis of a questionnaire, hearing test and conversation with the audiologist, you are assigned to 1 of 5 categories, depending on your degree of hearing loss. If you choose a hearing aid from the same category in which you are classified, the basic insurance will reimburse up to 75% of the cost of the hearing aid. Whether the full 75% will be reimbursed depends on any outstanding deductible. If you have any outstanding deductible, it will be used first.

The co-payment

The remaining 25% is called the co-payment. You pay this yourself, unless you have supplementary insurance for this. Have you already used your deductible and do you have supplementary insurance for your full deductible? Then your hearing aid is free.

It may all sound a bit complicated but rest assured that our audiologists will fully calculate it for you in advance so there are never any surprises.

A hearing aid from the outer category

The hearing protocol provides you with a hearing aid for your necessary needs. Beyond these 5 categories, however, there are hearing aids that we call the outer category. Hearing aids that fall into the outer category typically have additional advanced features that, while not considered necessary by the protocol, you may want. If you buy a hearing aid from the outer category, also called private market, it will not be covered by the health insurance company and you will therefore pay for it yourself.
