Hearing aids come in several categories. Hearing aid categories 1 through 5 are determined by the hearing protocol. Your hearing loss is assigned to one of these categories based on the Amsterdam Questionnaire you complete and the hearing test. Category 1 means mild hearing problems and thus a relatively simple hearing solution, category 5 means very severe hearing problems and thus a complex hearing solution. Within each category there are various brands and models available. Based on this classification, you will also receive reimbursement from your health insurance company. In limited cases, it is possible to pay extra for a higher category after your classification, but this depends on your health insurance company.
Hearing aids from the private market
Outside of these 5 categories, it is also possible to purchase a hearing aid from the private market. These hearing aids are very advanced, but also more expensive and are not covered by health insurance. With us you can choose from the categories Supreme 1 to Supreme 3. Ears2u is similar to Supreme 3, but you can purchase these hearing aids on credit.
