Original post
A new update was recently rolled out for the following apps:
- Signia App
- Audio Service App
- Rexton App
- myRemote App
These apps are used daily by thousands of people to conveniently and easily control their hearing aids via smartphone. Among other things, the app allows users to adjust the volume, change programs and tune their hearing aids to different listening environments. However, since the latest update, many users are experiencing problems. In this blog, we explain what is going on, what you can do and how you can help us solve the problem faster.
What’s going on with the app?
Last week, version 2.7.1 of the above apps became available as a successor to version 2.7.0. Shortly after this update, reports came in from hearing care professionals and end users that the app:
- No longer opens
- Stuck during startup
- No longer connects to the hearing aids
- No longer performs all functions correctly
Although this does not affect all users, the problem appears to be widespread enough to warrant action.
For whom is this blog intended?
This information is relevant to you if you:
- Hearing aids used from Signia, Audio Service or Rexton
- Using the corresponding app on your smartphone
- Recently updated or noticed that the app is no longer working properly
As a user, what can you do yourself?
Although a definitive solution is not yet available, you can try the following steps. In some cases, these will temporarily fix the problem:
- Delete the app completely from your smartphone
- Turn off the smartphone completely, wait a few seconds and restart it
- Reinstall the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
- Re-pair the hearing aids with the app as you did during the initial setup
Note: Unfortunately, this does not work in all cases. For some users, the app still continues to give problems despite the above steps.

- Use a stable Internet connection when reconnecting the devices
- Make sure Bluetooth on your phone is always on
